between 3 and 6 would be the correct answer.
If a home team is leading, the 9th inning has only 3 outs.
If the teams are tied in the 9th inning, the home team can win the game with 0, 1 or 2 outs.
In every other completed inning, innings have 6 outs total.

depends...most innings have 6(3 the first half inning and 3 the second half inning) Some innings can have just 3, 4, or 5. How? lets say the home team is down in the ninth innings and the away team has 0 outs. If the home team scores enough runs to take the lead, the game is over. this can be done with the away team have 0, 1, or 2 outs. Sometimes(rarely) there can be 0,1,2 outs in an inning. Lets say the inning starts and the away team is batting and there are 2 outs. If it starts to rain then the game is officially over(only after five innings however) and the team with the most runs wins and the inning only had two outs. This can happen when there are 0, 1, or 2 outs.

there can be eight outs in an inning once three outs are made then there cant be a fourth out. Even in that play, the runner that ran home wont be a fourth out because he never tagged up. and cant score unless he does tag up. even if the play is appealed, the runner on third isnot a fourth out. he would be called a runner left on base. A runner left on base is a runner that never was caught out in that inning of play. The guy that wrote that is doesnt know what he is talking about.

There are 3 outs for both teams per inning. If you were going to count the total outs per inning, that would be 6.
