Sweetie, this is not your fault. My daughter had a similar event with German Shepherd puppies. The mother was in labor and delivered the puppies dead. This is a common situation because not every mother whether it is a person, a dog, or a goat will 100% of the time have live babies.
In fact, if that baby goat had a chance at life you gave it that chance by using your head and trying to help the mother by working with her natural labor. That was the best anyone could do unless, of course, a vet was present and even then there are no guarantees in this life.
Sometimes, nature doesn't, for whatever reason produce perfect circumstances. This was one of those times. It has nothing to do with you, honey. I think you were incredibly
smart to have even thought of this. I wouldn't have and I am 60 years old. I think you are a genius.
Please pray for the babygoat and I will pray for you. You know, The Bible says, "blessed are those who mourn for they shall receive comfort.

If you couldn't feel the head by the time a front hoof was out, the baby's position in the birth canal was wrong. It may have had its head extended back over its shoulders or it maty have been sideways in the uterus.
You didn't kill it by pulling on it. It probably died of lack of oxygen during birth, since the placenta was separating from the mother's uterus but it could not breathe because its head was not out.
It's just one of those things. Not every birth goes smoothly with any animals. You did the best you could, and more than many people would have, by realizing that somerthing was wrong and taking her to the vet. If you had "just let nature take its course" your goat would have died, too. You saved her by taking her to the vet.

I think next ime (if there is a next time) u should take her to the vet faster
but the past is behind u and the only thing u can do about it is learn from it
don't dwell on the past it only makes thimgs worse
I know my dog gave birth and during the night she had 2 more puppys no one was around and they r supposed to suckle really soon after they come out and she was the runt I often have thought it was my fault for not being there that she died
but that is over she is dead and she is in a much better place then before
I'm sry

I really hope this isnt a joke... Well no its not your fault you tried the best you could. I doubt that if the head wasnt comming out in the first place that it was your fault. The baby was already probably dead. But humans and animals dont work th same way to next time just get some help.
Good Luck

There is no reason to blame yourself.
You tried to help.
You did a great thing by taking your goat to the vet, some people never would have.
Did the vet give you any reason why the goat was having such a hard time delivering? Sounds like it could have been breach?
Sorry you had to go thru this.

i lost my dearest dog 2 1/2 months ago (ziggy bob), thru ignorance, stupidity, self absorption...some fault i'm sure was my own...i came across a site -- w.w.w.petloss.com/dealing.htm -- that helped a great deal.
you should give yourself credit. many people wouldn't've cared enough to do anything at all. unless you're a vet, you did the best you knew how and will know more for the future.

I am so sorry. I had a pig (sow) that went into labor and the babies died from the coldness and then she rolled over on one. You were there though helping her, the baby was probably stuck. Don't blame yourself. You did everything you could.

It was probably suffocated in the birth canal. You helped her with all good intentions in mind, and even took her to the vet. I am sorry that the baby died.

You might have taken her in to the vet faster, but otherwise I don't think you changed the outcome much. Breach births generally don't do well. At least you didn't lose your goat too.
