I don't know about emminent, but I find it too much of a coincidence that many prophecies from different parts of the world have predicted similar catastrophes. The aztecs predicted the end of time as we know it, which opens another round of questions as to what that means.

Pretty much everything you mention here has been going on for a long time. There was a warming in the medieval period, which was before factories and cars I might point out. We've got a fair handle on diseases; small pox has been eradicated, for example. Comets and meteors are also nothing new. And as for prophecies, remember Y2K? Many people were fussing that the world was going to go haywire and nothing happened.

well the Mayan Calender ends on Dec 17, 2012. Do not know if that has any meaning though. it really is a mystery. God only knows the answer. Many talk about a polar shift which will cause catastrophic changes to the earth.

Sure, why not. The same things were evident in 1599, 1999, and every even year since the ancient Egyptians. Earth keeps spinning though. Don'c count on everything staying the same. climate, volcanoes, meteors and hurricanes have been going on for millions of years. They change from time to time.... so hold on to your seat and don't think it's all Uncle George's fault.

Why not? With all the dirty stuff being pumped into the atmosphere and on Earth itself, it could happen. There are more written thoughts on the end of the world than any thoughts about good things for the future. Most of the bad things are due to human beings tampering with the unknown and their conflict between themselves.
