Say someone with halitosis is choking on something. You're the only person who can help, but then again they have oral hygiene problems.

Would you give them CPR?

I would grab a plunger and it would be very efficient for removing a blockage. If it can unclog toilets why not unclog a throat? Problem solved!

If someone is choking you dont give CPR DUH. You let them cough it up. And if they stop coughing them you give them the abdominal thrust movement NOT CPR until they go unconsious.
You wouldnt know that the person has bad breath until you have already started CPR. Also you should NEVER give CPR unless you are certified (cause they can sue you because good samaritain law only covers CPR certified people) and you should use a mouth barrier. So if you use a barrier you wouldnt notice their breath and you wouldnt concentrate on that because you would be so busy remembering the CPR steps.

Of course I would , a life is more important than the *ewww factor* You can create a barrier like a cotton hankercheif between the 2 of you where you could still get air in etc..but really could you live with yourself if you could have made a difference and chose not to?

Maybe you could carry a couple of mints in your pocket for just such an occasion!
You could kinda stick them in the victim's upper lip so as to not block the airway.
Or you could invent a mouth guard that has a refreshing fruity scent! Call it Victifresh!

Yes. Lots of people vomit before they need CPR. You do what you have to do to save a life.

Of course! A human life is worth a little discomfort, for crying out loud.

I used to have a really good friend who had halitosis, if it was a matter of life and death......it would never matter to me.

I would try not to think about his breath and concentrate on just helping the person in need.
