You are neither possessed nor schizophrenic! It appears you are unknowingly traveling the spiritual path. Only a person who is absolutely truthful hears the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman within. It is the voice of our real self... our soul atman that resides in our heart. We must never forget that it is our soul atman that has manifested the body and not vice versa. It is not within the capability and capacity of the body to manifest a soul atman.

Every soul atman is on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations (an earthly abode of 96.4 million years). This is necessitated as the soul atman requires removal of all impurities contained within. Starting the journey as an amoeba (single cell formation)... the first manifestation in the cosmic life cycle... it further evolves into multi-cell formation, insect life, plant life, animal life and finally the form of a human being. Every soul atman manifests the form of human being after crossing 7.3 million manifestations... never before!

Only as a human being one ultimately realizes that the real essence of life is our soul atman living within our heart. Possessed with the power of discrimination that distinguishes us from animals... some human beings travel the spiritual path. They want to know the real essence of life... the real crux of life... who we are, why our soul atman has manifested the form of a human being, where shall we go next, why do we die, what is our relationship with God Almighty and so on.

Those who are absolutely truthful can hear the sweet small voice of our soul atman within. The promptings of our soul atman within always guide us on the right path. Traveling the path of absolute truthfulness one finally reaches the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha). This happens in the 8.4 millionth manifestation. Thereafter it is a direct journey to the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism). Having liberated forever from the cycle of birth and death... our soul atman rests in peace in kingdom of God! in order to answer this question a lot more detail is necessary. Getting information of this type on a site such as this is not reliable.
I would suggest you check with your Doctor who could refer you to a specialist. Some times what we think may be neurological or a symptom of mental illness is not that at all but an actual physical problem with our auditory system.

I have a friend who hears music some times the same music over and over it is very frustrating for her. it the sound interferes with her listening to any other music, the telephone and conversations with friends and family. It is distracting and caused disruption in her sleep patterns.
Please see your Doctors and get a proper diagnosis. Chances are they can help.

There are lots of things you could have going on. But most important, you need to talk to a doctor about it. When voices aren't important, it won't be too much bother. But if the voices get annoying, or worse, scary, then you will want them to go away.

So you need to get medical help. I know one person who had that problem, and it was only anxiety. Went on Zoloft, and it got all better, right away.

If you're hearing voices that aren't there, it's quite possible you're schizophrenic. Seek help from a psychiatrist.

You are hearing voices as all humans would, but there are two possibilities. One possibility is that you have lost touch with your hearing imagination (an imagination needed to identify others and perform music), or two, your mind has no resistance to alien mental data (sensory processing of others). If both are true, you may identify one through re-establishing the integrity in the memory process (i.e. do the voices have coherent meaning in your life's experiences and other memories. If the voices are coherent with their own babbling, but bare no relation to your life, then you need to strengthen your use of your here-and-now sensory utility. When your senses are working together and your self consciousness is focused in your sensory activity, that shall help to strengthen your internal integrity. You shall need to consult a professional for more information on that

The "Gestalt prayer" is a 56-word statement by psychotherapist Fritz Perls that is taken as a classic expression of Gestalt therapy as way of life model of which Dr. Perls was a founder.

The key idea of the statement is the focus on living in response to one's own needs, without projecting onto or taking introjects from others. It also expresses the idea that, it is by fulfilling their own needs, that people can help others do the same and create space for genuine contact, i.e. when they "find each other, it's beautiful."

Text of "prayer"
I do my thing and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations,
And you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.
If not, it can't be helped.
(Fritz Perls, 1969)

Go to a psychiatrist, assuming neither your brother nor sister are one.

They will be able to help the most.
