oh my god, why does Tito keep putting the ball in tim wakefield's hands vs the yankees. he has lost 2 out of the first 3 games we played vs them

tonight he went 3 2/3 and gave up 8 earned,

kyle snyder is part to blame

But why does he do this when it is clear he is terrible vs the yankees?

Anyone care to defend Wakfield?

I'm with you, man...I cannot defend him...Wakefield is the most inconsistent starter in the rotation...He's like Rex Grossman in the NFL...He's good or he's bad...There is no in between...and I don't know why they don't make him the #1 reliever...I think he could pitch well if he had to come in in the 6th inning...but as a starter, I don't think he is good enough...Thank God the Red Sox are so far ahead in the AL East that even a slump wouldn't ruin their season...and thank God Josh Beckett came back from the DL...Schilling and Dice K can't carry the whole season by themselves...

Wakefield is a major league pitcher making lots of money. He has to face the tough teams just like everyone else does in that rotation.

You can't take him out of the rotation when it's his turn to pitch giving others short rest.

In Wakefield's defense prior to this start, his nunmbers vs. the Yankees were about the same as Schilling's. The only difference is Schilling got some run support in one of his games.

Schilling 11 runs in 13 innings
Wakefield 9 runs in 10 innings

Yes, I can.

Wakefield as you may know is a knuckleball pitcher.
Numerous weather issues need to be in place for that ball to dance like it's suppose to.

Watch Wakefield pitch on a hot, humid day and you'll see him go 7+ hitless innings.

The weather is one of the biggest factors for a knuckleballer. But I have to admit, they can't just have him pitch when the weather suits him, who do you think he is, Roger Clemens? LOL

1) it's just a game.
2) they don't want to mess with rotations just to avoid one guy vs. the yankees.
3) "he has lost 2 out of the first 3 games we played vs them" Do you play for the red sox? (using the term 'we'). If so, why aren't you at the game?
