Texas. Then Bush would no longer be a U.S. citizen, and would not allowed to remain in office. Even better, we'd never have to worry about another Texan becoming President (Conservatives - remember LBJ). Also, they come to Colorado and throw trash around our parks. I won't even do business with Texans on eBay anymore. I'm sure there are good ones, but looking for them is too much work.

In answer to your question . . .The state that speaks up the loudest saying " don't eliminate my state ". Though my vote is leave all states as they are. Each are unique unto themselves.
By the way . . . Texas and California seem to be in the top running to your question. I wonder if those who answered Texas or California ever lived there for any period of time.
Speaking as a native born and raised Californian . . . We're free creative thinkers, speak our mind, engage in open conversations / debate / ponder, we're overall peaceful, fun loving, we live life...don't have our life life us, we're more open to be acceptable of an individual being an individual...no focus on color, single, straight. Pot smokers ? You're thinking of back in the times of the 60's and the hippy era. And...the other " better than any body else " comment made here...silly. Whose to say any is better or " worse " . . . that's just silly. We're just us...quirky, unique, creative, expressive and all.
Are all Californians like this...no . . . But as a general rule...that's us.
We even have a " fun banter " debate going on here for years here of . . . " Which is better, Northern or Southern California ". . . " Which is better San Francisco or other Northern California areas ". It's all silly...yet all in good fun.

Get rid of those damn californians. They think they're all that, just like us Texans do. And there's only room for one state that thinks they're all that... and the only state that can pull it off, and be telling the truth when they say that their state's the best... is Texas. That's just the way it is. Sure we could be on our own. And we would kick the s**t out of pretty much every country on the face of the earth. And I don't know what people are thinking when they stereotype us as country cowboys. One of the top 10 largest cities is Houston. And it's probably one of the top 10 urban as well. Texas is home of bands of all types of music. Not to mention... music capital of the world is Austin. The only reason I can imagine that people would want to get rid of us from the country, is because we simply excel at everything more than you do. Sports, music. And not to mention, EVERYTHING'S bigger in Texas. I'm sorry, but all the other states just plain LOSE compared to us. But if I could get rid of any state it would be those snobby, pompous, retarded, industrialist californians.

I would not eliminate any state from the USA. The diversity of our states is just one of the many things that makes this nation great.

California...Bomb it and start over but make sure all illegals that don't contribute anything and gangs, people who soak off the system at the tax payers expense and disrespect the country are there so they can be extinguished..Oh and liberals also..Just maybe we can restore it back to a half way decent place to live as it was 15 or more years ago! ; p

Texas.
They have state laws on the books that say Texas is allowed to succeed from the US, then split up into 5 independent states.
No joke.
Get outta my head, James!

Virginia. I lived there several years, and really didn't like it. For such a conservative state, they sure taxed the hell out of me.

Texas! If we were on our own (as we were for nearly a decade once) we'd be the 5th largest economy on the face of the earth today! I think we could make it on our own!

California is tempting (most treacherous USA-hating liberals you'll ever see) - but then again it has the best arable and forest land in the nation.
What about Alaska or Hawaii? That would be fun - they're so far away they wouldn't know what hit 'em until the supplies stopped coming.
