Should I have a baby girl, I have the name Katelynn Elizabeth chosen... I've had this name chosen since I was pregnant with my 2 1/2 years ago. My question is, should I spell it Katelynn with two Ns, or just the common spelling as Katelyn with one. I really like the way Katelynn looks for some reason, but I'm also all about keeping names as simple as possible... how should I spell it?

Katelyn or Katelynn

Thanks!

To JaneDo who said double names sound southern to you... what's wrong with that? My husband is from Georgia, and I'm from Texas, so she'd fit right in when we went to visit family. :-)

Oh, I love it with 2! Looks so much more feminine. Beautiful name choice by the way!

Caitlin is the most common spelling for that name. You could name her Kate Lynn. If you name her Katelynn or Katelyn, she will spend the rest of her life spelling it out for people.

I think it is a very nice combination of names, but I am very hesitant about uncommon spellings. Ultimately, it doesn't make them unique, just annoyed when no one can spell or pronounce it.

I like the Katelynn.. it's different and it looks like maybe you are trying to combine the two names rather than just use Katelyn.

I don't see anything wrong with using Katelynn. It isn't being too wild or crazy adding that one extra n.

I really like the spelling Caitlyn though. That has ALWAYS been my favorite way. It looks so feminine and pretty.

Take Care. Congrats! SD

Personally, I like Katelynn with two N's. I like this because you could end up calling her Kate or Lynn for short! Either way though, it is a very cute name!

I like the two N's but my sister in law pointed out (she's reading over my shoulder) that she's going to spend her life correcting people....and she'll always see Katelyn things in stores not Katelynn. She says she never say Michelle things just Michele...now its changing and you see more double L's but not when she WANTED to buy pens or signs with her name on them.
congrats and good luck!!
