I actually just answered a different question with a post that would be fitting for yours as well...Here's a copy:

"If you're careful & skilled with a small exacto knife, you can create your own plastic shapes to glue the crystals onto. You'll have to go to a craft store like Michaels or Joann Fabrics, & go to the section where they have wall stencils. You should find stencil "Blanks", which is basically a solid sheet of thin, cuttable plastic. On these, you can use a thinline Sharpy to draw out the design you want to cut out, then just follow your outline with an Exacto knife & you'll have your shape. If your making an average size necklace pendant (1-2 inches)you should be able to get at least 15 pendants with 1 Blank sheet."

The only difference is, you'll probably need some paint for plastic as well. Michaels & Joanns should have plastic paint by Delta or Plaid that's made for plastic surfaces. Paint, dry, then glue on your rhinestones.

First you need a chain
then you need a plastic bat
Now the crystals you can get at Michaels craft store.

They always have a 40% off coupon every week.
all you have to do is buy a hot or cold glue gun and attach the crystals to the bat.

Most plastics such as acrylic and lucite cannot be cut by hand and require a laser cutter. Try a company such as Lovebites and Bruises - they tend to most DIY companies cutting needs esp. the teens of Myspace and Ebay who resell their DIY jewelry online.

it could be something heavy that they are cutting with a band saw or it could be something they can melt and mold, like friendly plastic, its impossible to tell without seeing it up close, the colored chains are likely anodized aluminum. over priced for what i see, but to each their own, you could make it from shrink plastic too or even mold them by hand from sculpey, i hope you figure out how to make them yourself, good luck.
