I have a peach tree in my backyard that is dying. The tree is a adult that been their for more then 50 years! The branches are turning darker and no leaves or fruit are being formed. Some of the tree is still bearing fruit and leaves. I would like to know is this a disease or lack of watering?

If it was lack of water or nutrients the tree would not leaf out or form fruits.
It sounds like a disease and it sounds very advanced.
If it is you will likely have to cut the tree down or at least the diseased parts.
Check out this web site. The graffics are great for fruit tree diseases.

Peach Tree Branches Dying

Search the trunk for a small hole where sap has bubbled out. That is a sign that it has a borer in it that will kill the tree if not removed. Try poking a needled or a long sharp nail into the hole to try to kill it. If you can't get it that way ask at a garden center what they have for peach tree borers.
