your pediatrician may recommend nursery water, only because it has a good amount of fluoride in it, which tap water may not have. otherwise, it doesnt much matter.

It depends on many things. Nursery water is fine but watch out. Too much fluoride can cause you baby's teeth to have white spots (check ADA for this info). Plus, nursery water is double the cost. Bottled water is fine to mix formula because the formula has all the vitamins and minerals the baby needs. We always used bottled "drinking water" or boiled tap water to make bottles. Once in a while I would give Nursery Water. Boiled tap water is safe if you have it tested(check for a local company-this is good info to have).

Nursery water is a bogus way of getting new parents to think they are doing the best thing for their infants. Filtered water is safe at any time and cheaper and no plastic bottles to fill landfills or end up in the ocean.

There has been a major increase in children and babies with cavities over the past few years and its partly atributed to the trend with filtered and spring water. These are both good and taste nice but don't contain flouride. While too much flouride is harmful, nursury water and unfiltered tap water which is cleared for lead has a good amount.

My husband and I are both in the dental profession :)

None of the above.

Our pediatrician says that bottled water isn't subject to the same health standards that city tap water is, plus most of it doesn't contain the fluoride that will help strengthen your baby's developing teeth.

She told us to give plain old tap water whenever possible. She also said to make sure we always gave cool/cold tap water, as hot water can carry lead from the pipes in your house if you have any lead pipes.

Distilled water is the way to go. A lot of times other bottled waters are no better than tap water.

We have been using Aquafina since my son was born 4 months ago. His Pediatrician has now told us to start using Tap water because Aquafina doesnt have the flouride that Tap water does. And I guess babies need a little flouride.

Ask your pediatrician. Here tap water is fine actually recomended because it has fluoride added to it. The fluoride is good for teeth and filtered, bottled don't contain it. An added bonus its free!!!

I would stick with nursey water until the age of 12 months, then switch to filtered water.
