The first rule is read as much as you can, and learn, with the best place to start Yahoo Finance :-)
Yahoo Finance Help pages are well set out and really do help you learn how to understand almost everything !
Yahoo Finance pages show all the data you will need for a long time.
Yahoo Finance pages help you keep a list of what stocks you are interested in, with most data you will need to make your investment decisions.
I regularly use:
http://au.finance.yahoo.com/
http://sg.finance.yahoo.com/
http://finance.yahoo.com/
Notice how the "au." is replaced by another country code or just removed for within USA.
From the Finance pages there are links to the Message Boads, where people chat money, shares etc.
Good place to read what other people think, ask questions, and usually get good answers.
My quicklink :
http://au.messages.yahoo.com/finance/
USA might be
http://messages.yahoo.com/yahoo/Business_%26_Finance/index.html
else try replacing "au." with your countrycode.
Remember, every investment decision is yours, especially when your decision is to follow someone elses advice...

Buffetology. by Mary Buffet, Intelligent Investor, the revised edition by Jason Zwig , and Contrarian Investment by David Dreman. These books are equally as informative and a lot easier to understand.

on an analogous time as those books contained in the 1st reaction are advantageous, they're all interpretations of the making an investment international from the historic attitude of the author. Finance is so super that somewhat some human beings view (and customarily debate) it in diverse techniques. i think of you will benefit extra from wide-unfold books. making an investment for Dummies (in no way study it however the Dummies sequence are consistently very wide-unfold so i could agree that this is one place to initiate) fundamentals of company credit diagnosis (time-honored & undesirable's). This teaches you the hassle-unfastened basic techniques-set solid success Edit: The authors of the books from "A no one" are seen to be very knowledgeable too. i'm no longer discrediting them, I only think of this is extra powerful to strengthen your person interpretation with fundamentals first and evaluate them with those investors later
