why don't you just mention this to your friends? in a casual way so 'do you think we could stay at your house?' and 'is it ok if we take turns driving' maybe they just expect you to do these things if you seem to not mind, they won't mind you saying how you feel.

It kinda depends where your volunteering. I use to volunteer at my local animal shelter, and they would usually give all the volunteers different jobs in order to be more productive since the shelter was so busy. There were some occasions they would pair you with others, and it was pretty fun! But sometimes it was just plain awkward because most of the people volunteering were juvenile delinquents serving time. All in all, I say it's a great way to make friends! Just be cautious with some of the volunteers serving time and remember it's not all about making friends, it's about helping the community as well.

Dont have the sleepover. Tell them if they want one they will have to be the one who steps up to the plate. You cant do EVERYTHING for them.
They have to grow up sometime
Dont give into them!

You call them friends?... read the book How To Be Your Own Best Friend. It';s short. Your friends are opportunists, selfish, and uncaring. Drop them now.
