It exists in local levels too. What I liked about President Lincoln was that he filled his cabinet with people with different views, just so he could see both sides of the argument so he could make better decisions. With our current "president", however, the government was filled with only one party: The Republicans. In that situation, checks and balances didn't work, which is why our government sent us to war without anyone's support. So yes, this political mixture does exist in local levels, and is starting to happen in national government again with the new Democratic-Majority of Congress.

Yes it can also b found in local gov. in America. Woodrow Wilson set the tone for our bureaucratic model before the turn of the 20th c. in a seminal article called "The Science of Public Administration." During the entire century, we moved away from good old boy/spoils system and moved toward bureaucratic model that became filled more and more by what Wilson called nonpartisan educated experts. This is of course idealistic and never truly realized, but it has been true to a certain extent. We now have so many laws and regulations to make the hiring process fair, impartial and dependent of academic training/achievement/experience rather than party affiliation. For example, I've been working with the city gov. in the town where I grew up and politics are not talked about if ever. Of course elements of party affiliation such as deeply rooted attitudes comes up, and certain areas tend to lean one way or the other (e.g. Texas is more conservative, Massachussettes is generally more liberal). But there is very seldom party warfare and stuff like that you see on the news that surrounds federal government in the US.

hell it is the way of all my relationships. I like a good debate and opinions will differ. Most people will differ even in their own party. It is good democracy the way it was meant to be. I do not think the forefathers would have ever imagined a president that used his power the way this current administration leader has done. The supreme leader has duped us all and we speak out to late if at all. We start off real apathetic and hope nothing changes and when we do take an initiative it is a no nothing issue. The lobbies have strong points and influence but they are paid for a biased point of view. What happened to a good debate from the grass roots up to the top. I think it exist but big money prevails.

the two the Dem's' and re pubs' can hardly agree on something even whilst they pick a similar ingredient. till you bypass to c-span you will no longer see a lot coverage of one/3 occasion applicants. great firms make huge contributions to applicants they help, you're constrained in how a lot you are able to donate to a candidate in my view. firms set up committees and communities to help and fund applicants. the main present financial ruin rules have been written via the banking marketplace for congress to make into regulation and it bit them interior the butt. the different situation is that some human beings vote for a million occasion each and all the time, the two because of the fact they help that occasion each and all the time and have faith it relatively is the sole occasion to do whats dazzling,or they're upset with the different occasion for some reason. the two events pick it their way and could compromise some to get their way. If what I study on the internet final evening is even 0.5 genuine, this election won't count besides. If we've yet another attack like 9/11 or a important disaster in the previous the elections F.E.M.A . will take administration and George Bush will strengthen into the genuine ability of government. If it occurs after the elections and in the previous the recent president takes workplace,i do no longer know what is going to ensue. G.W. signed an govt order for the continuity of government and F.E.M.A. will take over and droop the form and the President stands out as the cohesion govt. Congress and the dazzling courtroom will nevertheless exist yet could have little or no voice, the President has the main suitable say in all concerns. there became into additionally yet another internet site speaking appropriate to the formation of the North American Union (Canada,U.S. and Mexico forming a union like the E.U. and the U.S. shape would be long previous.

Unfortunately, the mix you allude to does not particularly seem to exist on the 'national' level. (I cannot speak with any basis concerning state\local politics\government.) Insofar as the current defiing political structure goes, my sense is "no" with rspect to executive branch staffing. In recent times the mix of which you speak no longer seems to exist. While I say 'no longer", I would hasten to point out that the career federal 'diaspora' (the little people who are indeed, in large measure, a vibrant cross-sect of our national culture and viewpoints as a nation) keep their heads down, and do their level best to serve all citizens on a level playing field. (Consider this as 'notes from the inside.') Blessings...

These are good men and women who represent our nation. They are patriots, first, and political party members, second.
I'm a democrat. I am not a socialist. I am first and foremost a patriot, and when I see a republican, I assume the same (unless they prove differently by trying insult our representatives, spread unfounded rumors, treat them as "guilty until proven innocent", or otherwise act seditiously).
The huge majority of our representatives are of this sort (thank goodness!)
Not that the public gives them credit for it. Thank you for pointing it out.
