My hcg level is within normal range at 29,000 as of today. I had the ultrasound 2 days ago and will be going back for a repeat in a week. I have a history of 2 miscarriages in the last 6 months.

hCG levels are good for 5 -6 weeks it could be just to early for ultrasound, much easier to see in a weeks time

When I was 5 weeks I had an ultrasound and the sac looked mostly empty except for a tiny spec sticking out. Very hard to tell.. At 6 weeks it was bigger and you could see the spec..my HCG was not that high yet either.. I would wait until next week for another ultrasound and see if it drops into view.

Yes, it could be that it was just to early for them to see something. I know that when I had my first ultrasound they could not see anything but the sac. We had to wait two weeks and when we went back there was a heart beat. So maybe you are just not as far along as you thought or it was not ready to be seen. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks to verify for an ectopic being pregnant. there became a sac with a heartbeat seen. surely outstanding. good luck. i'd say all is definitely yet basically your typical practitioner would provide you precise information on your case.
