I often try and help animals that my cats have caught but kept alive, but are still in shock. Is there any way to help them?

If they are in shock, keep them warm and in a quiet place away from the cat. Have water available for them to drink. This is basic treatment for shock. If shock is the only problem, they will recover.
But if the animal has been bitten at all, though, the situation is more serious. A cat's mouth has very bad germs; any animal that has been bitten will probably get an infection.

The best thing to do is prevent the cats from catching wild animals. Keep the cats indoors.

If your cats do slip out and bring back an injured animal, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. You should be able to find one here:

These people have the training and the resources to deal with injured wild animals, but the majority of all cat-caught birds and small mammals end up dying from their injuries.

Try to get more info from the Animal Humane Society, or ask at your local animal shelter.

Your cat is simply being a cat. If you can't handle the truth, I suggest a different pet.
