Go for it !!!!!! Crumbs don't count in my opinion.
Nobody sells or buys cookie pieces on purpose, so by extension of this logic you can't eat them on purpose either.
Consider yourself a waste disposal unit, and an environmental friendly one at that.
GO GREEN, RECYCLE YOUR OWN COOKIE PIECES!!.

I love cookies... ever since I heard of the cookie monster...

Key here is "wife said"! Which means the gestapo issued the orders. Do not even dream about eating a cookie from that bag, you will be wrong. The thing to do is, surprise the living s/h/i/t out of her and go out and buy the makings for her favorite cookies and bake them for her! You will be amazed at what a gesture like that will do for you're status in her eyes! Isn't that what we are really talking about here??? Good luck--try it...

Well, if she SAID cookies, that would seem to exclude cookie PIECES, so it certainly sounds reasonable to me. And if it's a weight issue, everyone knows that once the cookie gets broken all the calories leak out, so she can't fuss about that. I say "Go for it!"

I loved the "cereal" answer and the "Make her some cookies" answer too.
