If there's a LOT to sell, try an estate sale.
If it's heavy, go to Craigslist in your area.

Sorry for your loss.
An item that heavy might have to be sold locally. If you do that transaction with someone online be sure you arrange to meet in a neutral place and take along a friend preferably big male. There are many pervs.
If you want to sell other items, you can choose to either pay shipping or charge buyer for shipping. Just go set up an ebay account and its very self-explanatory but any problems - come back and ask.

Ok first, you need to take a picture of it to put on there. Secondly you need to get it weighed, and inspect the wheel chair for any damage, so that you may let your prospective buyers know what they are getting. You can offer shipping...and no you shouldn't pay for it yourself because that can wind up being more than what you actually get for the item. You can offer them various shipping choices, based on the weight of the item. Or you can choose to do local pickup only. If you have never sold on ebay before you will only have the option to do it auction style(you have to have at least a score of 10 before you can use the buy it now option). You would have to just box it up and take it to the post office,(if being shipped elsewhere)
And I agree with someone else..try selling it in the paper..that may help you better.

Describe the item exactly and include a few photos. Tell every bidder that the buyer pays shipping. You can charge them upfront a flat fee for shipping, or charge them the exact amount after you check Fed-ex or UPS on how much they will bill you for.
To make it easier, forgo all shipping and ask for local pick-up only.
Good luck and sorry about your dad.

Look I'm not sure where you live, but I think if it was me I would put in ad in the paper where I live to see if I could sell it first. The shipping cost on Ebay for something that heavy is gonna cost ALOT. Oh and I'm really sorry to hear about your dad I wish the best.

Two ways:
1. Do it yourself
2. Pay a business to do it for you.
If you do it yourself, you need to use a digital camera and take good pics of the items. You also need an ebay seller's account. For this you will need a credit card. (no charge. they do it for security).
If you pay a business, they will charge 35 to 40 percent of the sales price, to do this for you.
If you need to ship, you can take the item to Kinko/FedEx.
They will pack and ship for you. It is expensive, but you can pass the charge on to the buyer.
If something is really big, you can specify that it is "for local pickup only".
Sorry about your dad. Good luck.
