For most I would bet $7.00 is the breaking point. For me at $4.00 I'm riding a bike!

This is a very good question. Personally I have already hit my breaking point. Just can't find a good used small car, at the right price.

I already bought a Yamaha Scooter that gives me 120 mpg. My 4Runner is pretty good for the class but 21-24 mph is not exactly 120. I did it not just because of money but also to stick it up to greedy bastards including but not limited to those in the white house.

My wife already has a Scion that gets 34MPG. I'm pretty happy with that. My truck only gets 13MPG but I drive it only about 8K miles per year. I like the convenience of my truck for hauling things. If gas keeps going up then I'll just park it more often.
