Buy a huge plot of land and erect several small houses on it. Invite trusted friends and family to live in the houses, and share the land between the houses as a big common farm. It would be an eco-village, very environmentally friendly, with recycling, composting, and renewable energy. The people living there would conserve and share resources and work with the local community to improve the quality of life everywhere.

I live in the Philippines, a country where 1 million dollars is about forty-five times more, which means a large sum of Pesos 45million! If you are an American, you can come here in the Philippines and may be a good life is waiting for here.

I'll assume that is 1 million after any taxes. 10% to my church. Debt free tomorrow morning. Career change by next month. Anything left goes to investments and charity.

invest it.

one million doesn't keep you going for terribly long these days, especially if you like nice things.

But, a million today can become three million in ten years and ten million in 20 years. Ten million invested brings a nice upper middle class (or better) income for the rest of your life.

:-)

We've all played this game at some point.

I would grant myself 100-200k to 'play' with, invest 500-600k, and give away the rest. $1,000,000 doesn't go as far as it used to.
