There's an episode of Family Guy where Brian breaks into a rap, and the song just repeats "Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Peanut Butter Jelly Time...etc etc etc..."
Is that just complete random nonsense like the show usually is, or is it a reference to something else? I just don't get it, why "peanut butter jelly time"? What's it making fun of?

It's a real song and the "dancing banana" was a internet craze a few years back.
The song was recorded by the Buckwheat Boyz.
The episode of Family Guy was called "The Courtship of Stewie's Father"

I think it's an actual rap song or something like that. Go to Youtube and type in 'peanut butter jelly time' and you will get a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG list of stuff.

It is an actual song... by Buckwheat Boyz. The Ying Yang twins remade it and in the early 2000's it dominated the internet in flash animation with a dancing banana so that's where the Family Guy reference comes in.
I like Brian's version the best...LOL
