Download the driver's first. Plug in the adaptor, windows will either pick it up as plug and play, or you can go to add remove hardware. Once the adaptor is picked up by Windows, you will see a new icon in your system tray that looks like a 2 computers. Dbl click this and it will show you the wireless connections near you. If it picks up your broadcast SID from your wireless router, connect to that network.

If not you will need to setup a wireless network using the wireless networ setup wizard in the control panel.

first make sure the card is installed properly.
look in the device manager to see if it says installed properly

Next on the bottom right of your screen is your windows tray
You should see a wireless network symbol
Right click > scan for available networks > click connect
If the encryption is off you will connect

If the encryption is on you will be asked to type in the security code ( twice)

If you cannot see the signal you may have to set up the router again and make sure the wireless beacon is turned on
If you find that you can see the wireless signal but cannot connect change the channel from the default channel 6 to any other channel
1 and 11 are the first to try
( neighbours routers causing interference)

A program called network magic is very helpful

You probably just need a short (0.5m) patch cable that should have come with your adapter.

If not, get a patch cable and plug one end into one of your router sockets and the other end into the adapter.

Then you probably need to enter an IP address like 192.168.1.1 to access the wireless adaptor, although your documentation will advise you on this.

You may have to connect the wireless adapter to your computer first, do the IP address thing and then set up the wireless configuration. Then plug it into your router and hey presto...

Good Luck.

First ensure your router's wireless is active and that you have dhcp enabled. Test that your internet connects correctly using the cable supplied. Run the installer disk that came with the network card. Then insert the card. You then run the card's wireless setup utility to find your router and connect. If you have set encryption on the router you will need to set the matching key. Once you have a working connection you must set encryption for your own protection, although for setting up and testing it is easier without.

Hi, what sort of adapter is it. If it's a gaming adapter I can help you.

Belkin are not easy to set up, it took me hours to sort mine out for the xbox but now it's perfect and trying to help others on here lol.

If it's a different sort of wireless adapter then I could still help you.
