No. It is correct that the only question about that play is whether one of the laterals was actually a forward pass. And they definitely didn't have instant replay in 1982. They have only had instant replay for about 5 years.

If you really want to watch some replays that will knock your socks off, watch the 2005 Texas-USC Rose Bowl. On one of Vince Young's long runs at the very end of the game, he clearly stepped out of bounds, and on another one, his knee was clearly down even before he got the the line of scrimmage. I'm not a USC fan, so I can say honestly and without bias that USC would have won that game if the refs had called it correctly.

i admire how each and all of the Laker followers are finally beginning to be conscious the large NBA conspiracy now that they are on the receiving end! Sucks does not it? in simple terms ask those poor Blazer and Kings followers you adult adult males thoroughly screwed over. this comprehensive "is the NBA rigged?" company shouldn't additionally be a debate anymore. And with the recent Tim Donaghy rfile that is going into element how referees have been ordered by NBA executives to make larger the 2002 Western convention Finals (the infamous Kings-Lakers sequence) to 7 video games. I knew it replaced into rigged then whilst i replaced into looking at it! Ever so slowly on account that then i've got tried to gather adequate data to convince myself it is authentic. The 2006 Finals between the Mavericks and heat furthered my suspicions. Now this....Celtics and Lakers. Oh what a moneymaker! The NBA is somewhat going to exploit this one! i ought to work out this matchup a mile away. and you're able to be able to guess it is gonna pass 7 video games!! i'm definitely thinking approximately making a occupation out of making a gamble on NBA video games! it is so predictable anymore. i'm going to guess a hundred grand that the Lakers will win activity 4. Any takers? heavily!

1. I didn't see it touch the ground either.
2. Instant replay was not a rule in 1982.
3. Blinded by John Elway's teeth from the sideline, unable to see it all clearly

First off, there was no instant replay in'82. Second, he might have but we'll never know for sure. It was an amazing play especially when the band player gets rocked in the end zone!
