Everything we conceive with the limited power of the senses and the mind exists in a Cosmos. A new cosmos forms with a big bang that occurred billions of years ago. The cosmic clouds birthed many universes... each universe containing millions of galaxies and each galaxy containing millions of stars. Our solar system is governed by sun... a very small star! A galaxy is just a distinct group of stars along with many other galaxies.
But on the other hand The Universe is all that exists Including space itself!

A galaxy is a group of stars(billions) grouped together by gravitational force. They can be elliptical, spiral, or irregular. We are in the milky way galaxy, one of billions of other galaxies that are scattered around the universe. The universe is the infinite "everything", that includes planets, stars, galaxies, nebulae, black holes, matter, dark matter, and everything else.
