im seriously considering having a breast reduction, but i dont know if i'm eligible, or qualified or whatever. at what point will insurance cover it? how do i prove its not "superficial" surgery? is there some sort of age limit? i'm 15, and im already a 40DD! my mom's ok with it. she just had the same surgery about a year ago. how long does it typically take to schedule these type of things?

You should really wait until you are done growing before getting a breast reduction.

As long as you complain about health issues (you may need documentation depending on how picky your insurance company) you are a good candidate for breast reduction.

My insurance company covered it 100% and I did not need any documentation, I only complained of back issues and grooves in my shoulders and rashes under my breasts.

I had it done Feb 2006 and love it.

I know of a girl who had this done and the insurance did cover it. She claimed self esteem issues. She was actually a very tiny girl with an over abundance of breasts. The doctors felt it was medically needed for her emotional health. Hope this is enough for you. Good luck.

By the way, she looks great!

If she just had it done and she's ok with you doing it then just ask your mom about it.
