First of all, I would say Carmen Policy was a joke... and not a funny one. From day one my beloved browns where doomed. The team was mismanaged from the begining. From there all the coaching changes and personel changes didn't get the team anywhere. Right now our hopes are tied to Savage and Romeo... which isn't that bad of a place. For the first time the team has a solid offensive line. The defense was young last year, so they should be improved, especially with Eric Wright solidifying the secondary. So there's a lot to be optimistic about. I'm also encouraged, because last years draft was solid all the way through, we have a lot of players who have some good upside. So this year the team is still rebuilding, but as these guys get experience and we add another draft class, good things should happen. Now how they relate to the indians and cavs... hmmm, cavs have lebron, and the indians have been pretty injury free.

They were named for Jim BROWN, to the one who asked what a Brown is. Sadly I'm a Steelers fan and I know that. Anyway hard to be a good team when you have 16 games and are the weakest team in your division. When the Bengals sucked the Browns looked better. Last year they were swept by the division(heck best they could do after that is 10-6) and you can't get far at that rate. The Browns have made TERRIBLE draft picks and the decent ones they have made have gotten hurt. I'd say look at ownership. They haven't been very good since they came back in the league. They had one good year where they made the playoffs and that is it. Look at the Ravens(the old Browns) and see the difference in where they have gone. I'd say ownership is one of biggest issues there. Yeah the Coach is part of it but a better front office and that Franchise could get back on track, maybe they will get that with Phil Savage as GM I'm not sure. To the one who said about all they gave up for Quinn. They didn't give up much. They gave up second round pick and next year's first round pick. So really they only gave up next year's first round pick. IF Quinn works out like they think he will, although I don't think he will, then they will look like geniuses for the move.

The Browns sucking has to do with the owner, office people, all the way down to the coach. They have had terrible luck with there draft choices, whether not panning out or on the pup list due to injury. Not that the picks in the first round were bad, it's in the later rounds where you can get good players. They have to do a much better job of evaluating talent. For the team like the browns to have as many top 10 draft picks the last 8 years and still continue to suck is bad luck and bad management.

The AFC is the harder conference and the central is a tough division. The Ravens are gonna be tough for the most part. Bengals are 50/50 depending on if their team can cross state lines or if they will violate their parole. Hey Steeler fans get it through your heads you suck now too!! You will be competing for the basement with us this year.
The main reason that the team has sucked is lack of depth overall and the horrible draft picks. Well with a revamped offense for the most part and a defense that is starting to gel it will be 2-3 years if things don't go to bad and you might see a year with all 3 of our teams in the playoffs.

Because they make silly moves like -
trading all those picks to get Brady Quinn, who will be a bust any way.
picking up Rubin Droughns for last season, who is very average.
Tim Couch
I seriously doubt they'll even be 8-8 this year. They play the Ravens, Steelers, and Bengals 6 games each year. The Browns are going to have a long season.

because their top draft picks that were supposed to be the prize of the organization i.e. tim couch and courtney brown were busts...they are continuing to improve and move in the right direction, but they will need a couple more years i think until they are ready to be truly competitive
