I am planning a road trip there and want to know a great place to stay, shop, eat and spa.

I really cant tell you the best place to stay but The hotels that have the hot water spas are all along the Central Avenue Strip. There are small shops along the strip also for shopping. There is a mall about 7 miles south on Arkansas State Route 7 which runs along central Ave. There behind the Hotel Strip is the famous Hot Spring Park there are hiking trails going to top of the mountain or drive your car up there to a Tourist Tower over looking the areas 3 lakes.
There is also a small Amusement Park complete with a water park called Magic Springs if you'd like to visit that

Hot Springs is famous for their hot therapudic baths and most of the old hotels are still available. There is a National Park there that is nice. You just missed the horse racing season at Oaklawn. However, they simulcast races year round and have slot machines at the track. And of course there is Mid America theme park that will keep you busy for a day.. The best Bar-B-Q in America is at a place called "McClards." Ask anyone there for directions. Have a great time.

shopping and the Hot Springs is about all there is there The Crater of Diamonds is in Murfreesboro which isnt too far about 50 miles or so and whatever stones you find you keep
