Enough of the man hating we are not living in the 1970's, feminists won the battle for equality - we're all equal, some heartless others with a great big load of heart! That applies to both men and women. If that is what you think of all men then I'm surprised you can attract a decent man let alone keep one.

Women make men heartless.Let me explain;it is almost always the man that has to make the first move when trying to meet single women.Therefore allowing himself to be subjected to rejection and ridicule.So in order to protect our feelings we have to put up emotional barriers to prevent ourselves from being hurt.This mechanism comes off as being heartless but the truth is we are very delicate emotionally but we can not let you see that at the initial meeting.The problem is that some of us don't know when to cut it off.

the game is heartless - survival of the fittest.
women are equally heartless, this is the weeding out of the weak, natural selection.
its based in our genes and anthropology, reproduction of healthy offspring is the goal of both genders. example - sick or weak looking mate is not chosen as they are not seen as attractive - why? because we have learned that sick children will be the product of sex.
tall broad shouldered men chosen as mates - body indicates good hunter - child will eat. big breasted women - infant will be nourished.
so, to answer, because we are programmed to be (as are women).
