I teach 2nd grade. The principal has decided that most of the teachers at our schol must change rooms to fit the Baldridge program. I have no chance of not moving. This involves moving a lot of material. I'd estimate between 50 to 60 xerox sized boxes. My dilemma is I was assigned to a smaller but workable room. I also would like to team with another teacher next year. She and I are separated by a third teacher who has been assigned a very small room with VERY little storage. Should I switch rooms with the teacher who is separating us or keep the bigger room.

Keep the bigger room. See if any of the stuff you have can be computerized with a scanner, you'd be surprised how much of it you probably won't need for a while. Definitely don't give-up the bigger room.

Why not just take the room numbers off the doors and change those to fit the new room assignments? Beats moving the boxes, and it isn't like anyone will ever notice.

Keep the bigger room if you can. You will always be grateful for the additional space.
