I need a lawn cutter and live in Northeast Phila. Does anyone know a good RELIABLE person. I am tired of these people that come when the hell they want to!!

Don't hire individuals. Hire a professional lawn cutting service. Look in the Yellow Pages, or, perphaps an employee at Home-Depot, Lowes, etc., can give you some leads on good people.

I had a lawn care business in Chester County, just outside Philly, until last year, then passed it on to my son. I added new customers by referral only. There was a lot of competition out there, but I had no worries. I CARED about my customers. Same day, every week. Longer or shorter grass, whatever they wanted.
There are good people out there, but a lot of unreliables also. Talk to a neighbor, friend, or even a business (bank , store) that you visit. Word on good workers are passed on quickly. Yellow pages, ads, don't help much. The best are small companies, respected, referred.
Good luck! Too bad I'm so far out of state now, would come cut your lawn just to show you that there are good lawn care contractors that care.

I have to laugh because just recently we went thru this. We lost $500 on one guy because he came whenever he felt like it and didn't even do the work. The funny thing is he was a white guy that said don't trust those Mexicans. Well I finally found a company and they are all spanish speaking and the head guy speaks english and let me tell you they are awesome. They are always on time, work really fats and do exactly what I asked them to do, cheaper, calls before he comes over to tell me what time they will be here, buys all the supplies himself so I can pay him back, etc. I am so pleased!! I found him in the yellow pages. It is usually trial and error. One thing to do is to never pay before the work gets done. I made that mistake with the other guy!! I wish you luck. I am way out in California. Oh another good tip is to search around your town and see what lanscaping trucks or maintenace trucks are at peoples homes. Ask your neighbors who they suggest or use. We noticed this same trailor around our neighborhood and severla others in our area and their lawns looked so nice so we called and were happy.

We have an individual and he does a great job. No annual contract, bills monthly, stops through the months I ask (we are in the Tampa Florida)..
Company's I am not particularly fond of. Individuals are more adaptable. My guy knows I want to come in from work on Friday and see a perfect lawn and I always do.

Sigh, I agree. The only reliable person to mow that lawn is you.
Try those gardening services advertised in the local papers.
