They shouldn't. But these days they do associate Bush with Texas. They should be reminded that Lyndon Johnson and maybe Eisenhower are Texas people.
And get this: Bush and his father were born in Connecticut.

Not at all. Texas is a great state and some of the best folks I have known are Texans. When ever I travel there I get a warm reception where ever I go.
Just as GW does not represent the majority of Americans, I would assume he does not represent the majority of Texans.

I lived in Texas for a few years. If I ever got lost I would just follow the odor until I stepped in something soft and warm and I knew I was home in Texas.

Probably because Texas elected Bush in the first place, but then again, by that logic America elected him twice.

typical feel good liberal type politics. people, like politicians are more than sound bytes and when information is so easily available with one click and a fifteen second summary on the media people often make quick, unfair and incorrect conclusions based on stereotypes and liberal viewpoints like that. astute polticians like the pelosi;/reid regime are aware of that and try to whip it up to a frenzy aka the razor thin madate of 06. it must work as theyre still doing that and not accomplishing much of what they promised. my point is its a unfair predjudice brought about by what most people see, not what is right or what's really correct.

simple mindedness. Same reason they dont like the oil companies even though they use oil. They dont attack the milk industy because we havnt had a Republican president who worked in the business. They attacked actors when Reagan was president for the same reason, until all Liberal hollywood came out of the closet.

True, he's not even from Texas. He only lives there. He's from Mass or Conn as someone else said.

When someone doesn't like President Bush, why do people assume they don't like Texas either?
