I'd try to meet the person behind the blinding flashes... I'm sure empathy is good, I'm not so sure pity is. I'd genuinely try to get to know them. The press on the other hand... good question. I've dealt with a wide range of people from the press. Some are S****** who make up their stuff because they can't bother to do their homework. Some are really good people trying to make a living out of getting information. Grey line there.
There's a fine line between getting info and stalking... but with the money at stake. Try to protect yourself, but also ask the celeb directly - after a while, they may have coping mechanisms. Or like the littl' Richie, become a professional gossiper and trouble maker. It's just people - so... it depends. Good luck to you!

I think it would depend on the actual celebrity I'd get a chance to meet. If they were constantly in the news - right now in the moment - then it'd probably be exactly like you describe it.
But if they were perhaps not so big in the media, then it might not be so bad. I have a few celebs in mind that I'd love to meet, but I doubt it'd be insane with cameras and peoplee everywhere.
I wouldn't freak out, like so many peopl would, or worship them like they were God on earth. But I'd have a great deal of respect for them because the celebs in my mind are real geniuses at what they do; and I'd love to sit down and have some good chats.
Cheers!! :)

i know...It's so sad that they don't have a normal life, they're just normal people that are really talented, but there are a lot of talented people all around the world, and they're not celebrities !
If I met one, IDK what I'd do, but I'd make sure to be different than the other fans, to stick out...Who knows, maybe that celebrity will remember me better !!! LOL
The closest person to a celebrity that i met was Steve Thomas (hockey player...)
i got his autograph, and I got one for my friend to, then, as a joke, he asked me if the friend that I got the autograph for was my boyfriend !!!So I asked him if the girl sitting beside him was his girlfriend !!! LOL

I don't know if I ever met a celebrity. If I did meet one, then I'm so sorry that I forgot, because it is definitely not worth my energy, and definitely not worth my time. However, I don't know what I will do if I ever meet or date Tobey Maguire (hopefully), then I will most definitely tell him about my super duper job as a MEDICAL BILLING SPECIALIST. I know in my heart that I am not a common freeloader, like his fiancee.

I have met several including Shatner ( denny crane ) they are just people who have a job they just have people watching them when they do it. They will have more respect for you if you treat them like a regular person and not get overly exited, can't talk or freak out about meeting them.
