"No. Even if you've been losing weight, the extra waste goes out in the urine. Poop is just stuff that couldn't be digested plus some fluids secreted by the gut to help it along."

If this is true, then theoretically one could poop out more than he ate. If you ate only things which were indigestible by your body, it would all come back out, with a small addition in the form of fluids, technically more than what you put in.

No. Even if you've been losing weight, the extra waste goes out in the urine. Poop is just stuff that couldn't be digested plus some fluids secreted by the gut to help it along.

Follow up: point taken from Dan K. You drink (not eat) water, but you poop some of the water either passed directly, or processed as secreted fluid. So, you have to neglect water for the above to be true.

I think there would be confusion about
1.technically no, poop is what we put in our mouths coming out the other end - that's so gross
and
2. are you pooping more than you are currently eating has nothing to do with what's already been eaten and not properly digested so it has been stored and can come out later making it look like you are pooping more than you are eating

Not unless you can create matter out of nothing, which is a bit of a challenge for mere mortals.
