is there a type of pill that you only have to take like once a week, or once a month??? I can't do depo, IUD, patch, or any other. My only option because of previous complications, is the pill, but I am horrible at remembering that kind of thing. LoL.... Thanks!!!!

To the first person.... no need to be rude... My son has to take a pill once a week, and I remember that for him, so I figured that I could leave me pills next to his and remember to take them.... As if that would be any of your business.

you could try the nuva ring, that one is actually the best to take because it has the lowest dose of hormones in it than any other birth control. but if you dont want to do that and u end up having to take it daily. i put mine right on top in my make up bag. i put make up on everyday and when i open my case its right there on top. so there is no way i can't forget (because i'm horrible about remembering too) or you could find a birth control pack that comes with an alarm on it. those are nice becuase if its in your purse, people think its a cell phone, and you'll always have a reminder to take it.....
also, the daily pill is a better option because the pills are only 99% effective, so if you do get pregnant you can stop taking them immediately. (because birth control is not good to take while your pregnant, its not good for the baby) anyway if your on a monthly or even yearly plan and you get pregnant you have birth control in your system for that set amount of time, which really isn't good in that 1% case.

I am a pharmacy technician... and unfortunately all of the pills are once daily. However, there is NUVARING, which is a flexible ring that inserted vaginally once a month.
Your only other option would be Depo Provera, which is a shot... or Ortho Evra, which is a patch. However, you said that you cannot take these.
I know it's hard to remember to take the pill, I'm on them, too. I try to do it with an activity that I do daily.. such as when I brush my teeth at night/morning.... or when I eat lunch. Hope this helps!
And remember it is important to gain complete effectivenesss to take the pill daily at the same time and not to skip days.

nope, depo, iud, the patch, you've just ruled out the only forms that are not taken daily. If you are terrible @remembering the pill you may have to place then by something you wear everyday, to remember to take them. Or put them in your purse, or even set your the alarm on your cell phone if you have one to remind you to take it.

Maybe an IUD would be a better choice for you, the new hormone IUDs have much fewer complications than the older copper IUDs.

Have you studied NFP? It's a natural method for postponing a pregnancy with no side effects and doesn't cost anything at all.
All of the pills must be taken regularly to work b/c the hormone levels have to be maintained daily to keep you from ovulating.

I'm not aware of any pill that you can take weekly or monthly...we keep my pack of pills next to our water cup on the nightstand and when we get ready for bed my husband gets it out for me. So between the two of us one of is sure to remember it :-)

not that i am aware of...and if you can't remember once a day what makes you think you'll remember every Sunday or every 1st day of the month?
added - just so you know i said this because i am the same way! i can't remember to take them so i knew i would forget regardless of how often i was supposed to. rereading my answer i guess it did come out rude but i really didn't mean it like that. SORRY!!!!!!
