It takes practice. But I keep telling myself that no one is perfect, EVERYONE makes mistakes. Stop "beating my soul up." Tomorrow will be a better day.

I am 55 and I have made some AMAZINGLY STUPID mistakes over the years. But I am still here, life is good, most of the time, bad sometimes. You just keep moving forward.

that depends on what you think you did....

often we don't understand the purpose of our emotions.... there is guilt of conscience that is when we actually do something and we've hurt someone we care about... apologizing to the other person is often enough and knowing what hurts them we stop doing it... this is the purpose of a conscience....
guilt regarding violence, here society lets us down... they only have found a way to control it by suppressing it... they still don't understand how and why..... it's a build up that needs to be expressed... I posted how to deal with violence on my blog if you want details...

it is important we heal because anger can easily become bigger than our ability to control it... so learning how to express it without hurting someone, is the way of doing that... so if violence is involved learn to express anger appropriately and how to burn it out before it controls you is an answer.

and guilt the third type comes from the religious habit of condemning the innocent... that is unnatural manipulative guilt... that one has to be ignored..... I am not evil just because I don't belong to the church... I am not born in sin... I am not born for the church... I am born for life and there's no sin in that.

I guess that depends on the extent of that which you have done. Was the error you committed morally wrong or a wrong committed against another? I think, depending ont he situation, you go to the person to which you have wronged and ask for forgiveness, and then you will be able to go on from there...

understand that you made a mistake and that you cant change what happened in the past. move on by saying to yourself, that you promise yourself to try to not repeat the same mistake in the future.
