the company would set up a box and run a ethernet cable from it to ur computer or router so u would not have to worry about it.
For sound most laptops dont have Fiber Obtic sound connections. The difference is minimal neways from standard r & w cables.

You wouldnt! A fiber optic cable is made for fiber connections with certain hardware and laptops are not one of them. They are made for faster network devices such as Cisco switches and other expensive stuff. Dont mess with it. If you are trying to hook up your sound device, if you dont have a place to plug it in, then dont stick it in there. Laptops dont mainly come with the fiber connection for audio, so you would have to buy an expensive external sound card in order to get it to work.

You can not sorry. You would need to either have a fiber optic modem to interface with your computer or a fiber optic I/O card installed in your computer.
