By the fifth or sixth month of pregnancy, the breasts are ready to produce milk, so the whitish residue might be miniscule amounts of colostrum (pre-milk) that have leaked out and dried.

During pregnancy, your breasts begin to get larger and prepare for lactation. Mammary glands become active. You will notice changes to your nipples. You may even have some drainage, but very little.

Actual lactation does NOT begin until after the baby is born. Your milk usually comes in around 2-5 days after giving birth to the baby. Some mothers have to wait a little longer.

So if you are looking for milk, you're wasting your time ;-) It does happen, but very inoften! Congratulations on your baby -wishing you much luck and God's blessings.

It is colostrum. My breasts begin leaking it very early on and this was how it started. Sometimes it got to be a bit itchy just as a warning!

My milk came in very shortly after my son was born. I think it was just under two days.

It's likely your breasts leaking. You shouldn;t have a whole lot that you can actually notice until the baby is a few days old-sometimes even a week.
