Listening to her with Ted Robinson, it seems as if he is constantly trying to deflect her comments and after she makes a statement, it's like he has to clean it up for her. It's also obvious that she is not too fond of Serena Williams. What do you think?

I like her candidness - too many commentators in sports are afraid to say anything even mildly critical - but she seems to have some real issues with Serena....and what's up with that.....she is in the best shape she has been in a few years & is playing well.

Martina is a critical commentator, but she was also an extremely self-critical player. Martina has the experience of being such an innovative female tennis champion, and I think she subjects other champions- like Serena- to the same scrutiny she subjects herself to. I don't get the impression she dislikes Serena- yet I can't imagine Martina would ever kiss Serena's *** either.I have noticed Martina commenting on Serena's grunt volume increasing during the most important points of the match- which seems true. Martina has also questioned the fairness/good-sportsmanship of such grunting- probably a good question to ask, because vocal hindrance is against tennis rules.

She hasnt commentated any of the matches Ive watched. Im not sure if its b/c of a difference in networks? Its been Pam Shriver here...Im not sure who the guy is. I would think that Martinas being a perfectionist plays a part in her being so tough & so real about other players. Not to mention how incredible she was/is. Her standards are way up there, but I agree she should try to be more positive & objective.

I have not heard that, she has always been a Serena supporter so id be surprised, I think maybe you are referring more to the style of play. Martina is a net player and sometimes -just like McEnroe, she describes a play with what she would have done..

It's you. Navratilova is a smart, witty commentator who knows as much about this sport as anyone alive.
