here are the factors why the mavs lost to the warriors:
> dirk didn't bring the leadership that was needed....as he chokes, so goes the mavs....
> dirk can't handle playoff pressure and is just so good in the season....
> don nelson knows how to stop the mavs since he has been there before and he knows what runs in the mind of avery johnson....and foinds a way to counter it....
> hustle. the warriors outhustled the mavs and has proven to have great playoff heart amnd has this never-say-die attitude....
> overconfidence. after a 67-win season, the mavs simply thought the first-round would be a breeze and is just only looking forward to the finals....they overlooked the warriors....
> too much talent on the mavs roster....when you have too much talent on a team, it causes a psychological effect to rely on each other and the mavs did too much of that than is neccessary....nobody stepped up so the mavs went down the drain....
> pressure....the warriors were playing loose while the mavs play on too much pressure....
> baron davis....this guy was just incredible in the series and you couldn't ask for a better game from him....he really stepped up his game when his team needs him to....
but i bet if they have gotten past the first round, they would beat the jazz since their play is the play that the mavs can keep up with(unlike the warrior's run-and-gun)....but it's questionable whether they would beat the spurs in the west finals....highly questionable(considering duncan is dominating again)....

First of all, learn one big lesson: teams rarely choke. That assumes many, many individuals can't handle the pressure, and that's an awfully big assumption. Plus, it gives absolutely no credit to the other team. Golden State matched up well with Dallas and played extremely well. Isn't that enough to explain the series?
Emotionally, the Warriors looked a little spent against Utah, and the matchups weren't as good.
I'm not sure how the Mavs might have done against the Spurs, but it would have been interesting to watch them try. Would have been an excellent series.

They didn't choke, Don Nelson just knows the Mavericks that good, how else would a low rated team dominate them so much, look at them now they lost the series to Utah and gave the Spurs a free trip to the finals, no Mavericks at conference finals= Spurs NBA CHAMPIONS. The Heat would of never been champions if the Mavericks had never beaten the Spurs.San Antonio is my hometeam, but I just like the Mavericks because they have proven that they are one of the few teams in the West that can stop the Spurs from another championship. But I like them both equally and are my 2 top favorite teams.

The team didn't choke, only Dirk. They wouldn't be in the finals right now because the Spurs would have been ready . Of course the Western Conference Finals would have gone on longer, but that's it. The Mavericks had another great season last season but still ended up losing in the Finals. But I agree the regular season does not mean squat, meaning if the Spurs end up playing the Cavs, it doesn't mean the Spurs are going to lose just because they lost both games against the Cavs.

I don't believed they choked, I just believe they were out coached. That was nellie's team only a couple years ago, and he was removed. He knew that team though, he knew their strengths and weaknesses and he knew they were not going to be able to play small ball with the warriors (remember the phoenix five guard rotation several years back?)

yes i think they did even i say that and im a mavs fan but im not a big one now... but yes thay did choke because they won about 68 games this year and then they lose in the first round... sounds like they were either bigheaded and went down or they choked
