When I was 12, I sliced the index finger of my left hand down to the bone with my pocketknife. My mother took the knife away. I asked for the knife back about a year later, and she gave it to me.
By the way, the scar is still visible (and it's 35 years later), and it itches all the time, and the fingertip is slightly numb. Watch out for those darn knives.
