I'm a member of a paranormal research group here in Arkansas, and we've been to Gurdon a couple of times to investigate the light.

While I've never seen it, several people on our team reported sightings. Check out the case report on the website for their stories: http://thespiritseekers.org/Investigation/GurdonLight/GurdonLight.htm

The typical lore you'll hear is something about a railroad worker looking for his lost head, if I remember correctly. It's the same kind of story you'll hear across the country at numerous other supposedly haunted railroad locations. In Gurdon, I think it's haunted alright, but not by any headless guy. Gurdon seems to be have a hot spot for racial lynchings and hangings back in the day...and the spirits of the victims are still hanging around in the woods around Gurdon's infamous tracks.

"No I did not see it personally in Arkansas, but I saw it on Unsolved Mysteries.
"The Gurdon Light is an unexplained light located in Gurdon, Arkansas. Unlike some of the other strange phenomena, it is a present mystery and not something that's only been seen in the past. It is a series of unknown phenomena which occur in a wooded area by railroad tracks, appears to viewers as a light or lights hovering in mid-air. The light has been featured on local media and on the TV show Unsolved Mysteries. The location is still in use by the railroad and is one of the most popular Halloween attractions in the area.

The color of this object has been described as blue, blue-green, green, orange, red, and white."

I've seen the Marfa lights down in the Big Bend country of Texas. I figured, like a lot of folks, it was some kind of night mirage of head and tail lights on the other side of the horizon. Then one went straight up and disappeared. This is desert country so no water to cloud bounce was involved.

I have never heard of it. But here where I live in the valley people have seen strange lights (green) in the sky beaming down., or bouncing off the mountain. If you like to read on unexplained phenomena, purchase the book "The Mysterious Valley" by Christopher O'Brien St. Martin's Paperbacks. He lives here in the valley too. Many of sightings that are listed in his book have appeared on the TV series "Sightings" & the TNT special UFO's Interrupted Lifes.
