this is a tough one and there is so much to consider but i think basically if someone is of sound mind and can speak for themselves then it should be up to them, personally if i were in such a state that i had no control over and i was in constant agony and was never going to get better and if i had no quality of life then i would want to end it when i wanted to and in my own way, but i do not agree to 'putting someone to sleep' just because someone else thinks they have no quality of life, unless they are able to tell you that themselves then how can anyone be 100% sure of what that someone can feel or hear or see whats going in around them?

It's so funny you ask this. We were talking about it the other day. And i was feeling the same way as you. I was like why is it wrong when they are suffering from cancer, or a terminal illness that can't be reversed it's better for them to die. The man talking to me said...i understand what you are saying, but the man is profiting off of their death, there could be other solutions that people haven't looked into or found yet and this man is just killing them right away. People are in a state of vulnerability and this man was taking advantage of that. So it made me think of that, and i understood to why it's legal made more sense

I feel the same way. I am DNR if I have been there anyway for a while. I mean give me a chance, but if I'm laying there suffering for God Sake get me out of here. I'm sure St. Peter will still let me in. If there's no hope- Hell I've almost died once and I held on and they saved me, but to just lay there. If I had my senses and knew what I was saying . Hell Yeah!

Assisted suicide is legal in the state of Oregon.
I believe that assisted suicide should be legal everywhere.
I hope that Doctor Death can continue his important work. He is a man "ahead of his time". The baby-boomers will want assisted suicide for the end of their life rather than burden their families, in my humble opinion, of course!

Yes I do. If I had a terminal illness and was suffering I would want someone to help me die.

Well, if it was a request and if they were going to die anyway I don't think it should be illegal, I mean is it so bad to not want to see some one slowly die and suffer horribly as it happens...that is the worst way to die in my opinion

I find it strange that we will put animals "to sleep" to end their suffering, but would never let them starve to death (the animal cops will come after you) but we will let humans starve to death, and not allow them the right to die with dignity.

I think it's wrong, and would lead to a slippery slope of morality.
