I've only seen green flames from burning plastic (and once or twice from VERY glossy paper burnt in the fire pit) - so the only way he could have made "green fire" is to have thrown the entire bag of marshmallows into the bonfire...

I tend to think he is probably telling you the truth. I have done flame tests on different chemicals and they burn a variety of colors. I can't think what would be in the marshmallow that would cause that color, but it is possible.

If you burn certain chemicals the flame will change colors. Odd huh? Maybe your friend is using a special marshmallow.
