Actually, i thought it stood for Leg Of Lamb. Maybe that's why i never got it when people said that with an exclamation point!

Well, LOL means laugh out loud. But, it could mean that its funny its just you cant laugh because u are on the internet or mostly people just say that because its not funny but they want the other person to think it is.lol?!?!

It usually means you think whatever the person said is funny, not necessarily that you're laughing out loud, sometimes I put it there as a filler..like now..lol

I started using it when i was talking online and it seems better than writing hahahahahhahaha all the time, it cuts back the waste of time showing your laughing but still gets the point across
