tb fi pressure was usually 9-13 psi ,which is too high for your carb. either install a fpr or install a mechanical pump. the easiest is probably the regulator. now than, when you turn the key on does the pump run 2 seconds and than shut off, or not at all?

I believe you should find a way to go around the fuel pump that is in the tank, the carb will not be able to pull fuel through that pump

the type of car would really help but get this........a fuel injection fuel pump will be to much for a carburator........you WILL have to regulate it down to 6 psi. as for the problem, if you didnt hook the factory oil pump wires back up the fuel pump will never run but for 2 seconds when you turn the ignition on.......oh and there goes your MPG

I second the pressure warning. FI usually uses around 40 psi. This could be DANGEROUS on a carb.
Good Luck and be careful
