They should stay in their own country and leave American jobs to AMERICANS! Just because they will work for pennies on the dollar and granted they will work hard but for God's sake go work in your own country and take some pride in your own freaking country and get the hell out of ours.

And for those of you who think Angela is a bigot, I think you are either all from Mexico illegally or just plain IGNORANT. Wake up and smell the coffee, you should speak the ENGLISH language and be American to live in my country!!

Anytime there are extremely harsh living conditions in a country, you will find mass migration / immigration. Examples of this is of the end of the 1700's - people fleeing France into England because of the French Revolution (anarchy vr. the wealthy). So, once things settle down, and the economy is healthy, people will remain or return to their homeland.
Mexico and neighboring states have historically had very aggressive invaders and rulers that have squeezed the life out of the native citizens. Honduras and Haiti are two of the poorest countries in the Southern American Hemisphere, so it is not surprising that they are desperate and immigrating to neighboring countries.
I can not see that just a few changes in Mexico and neighboring countries will have any effect. So long as the drug trade has a demand from the US, there will be the drug lords that are powerful and rule. And justice is not practiced, as the court systems are corrupted by officials. Everyone in power partakes to some degree in payoffs and corruption. And the common citizen suffers the most.
So, yes, immigration to the US would slow down if the countries that these people come from had better economic, social, cultural, religious, legal and individual rights. But, it is not going to happen unless something highly charged and dramatic as in the days of the French Revolution takes place....but lots of innocent persons died under the blade of the guillotine during that time - it's never a perfect justice!
There's never a perfect solution.

Yes they should improve conditions in some areas there, but that's a ridiculous question. First off, they immigrate here because most of the time, they have to. If the living and working conditions were **** here and Mexico's were great, guaranteed there'd be a hell lotta illegal immigrants heading there. Second, there are plenty of other immigrants from other countries who illegally come here. And that includes people outside of the Latin community.

i agree with you. I don't like that they think they have rights in America when they don't ever let an Asian or others enter the Mexican country. I'm Mexican so I'm not being racist. Its not just Mexicans that immigrate its many others.
Immigration is never going to stop. Your proof is history. Many don't live were they were originally from. If people can take advantage of some thing they usually will.

If our government is going to travel half way across the world to help the "so called" oppressed we should demand the Mexican government improve the living conditions in their own country. The tourism and agriculture conditions in Mexico could rival any in the world. Our government allows any of our "allies" to treat their people any way they desire. While turning a blind eye. If we are going to have to spend federal funds anyway it would make much more sense to help develop Mexico, than deal with the consequences of not. Unfortunately, as one answerer already pointed out if you take an outlooks of anything which doesn't throw our borders wide open you are viewed as a racist, bigot, or worse. Actually, I think we should allow the rest of the world to take care of themselves and we do the same. GOOD QUESTION

What is more illegal ? those who break an unjust law,or the unjust law itself??? a cuban simply has to set foot on dry land, and bingo, instant citizenship, whearas a mexican ,who cannot even get a job at minimum wage has to pay THOUSANDS of $$$$ just to START the bussiness of becoming a citizen. I suppose that if you were back in the fifties you would want all the black people who had THE NERVE to sit down at lunch counters to get what they had coming, hey and what about the FACT that all you minutemen types only get hot under the collar about latinos, but say nothing about the undocumented chinese or irish,or germans (I KNOW FOR A FACT THERE ARE UNDOCUMENTED GERMANS HERE , I HAVE MET ONE) you people ARE racists !!! futheremore,it is a stupid argument that they have no morals because they break that law,THAT LAW IS WRONG!!!!!and how do you know they are NOT working to better there country,by the way, where exactly have you been in Mexico, and for how long, did you ask them what it is like for them, their struggles??

I think that people should be allowed to have better conditions to live in. However, that does not mean that I agree with illegal immigration. So, yes, I think that they should improve the living conditions in their own country.

I think ALL countries should improve conditions for their citizens. There's parts of the USA as bad as any slum south of the Rio Grande. Moving the poor around like refugees is just a shell game.

The problem is the Mexican government, not the Mexican people.

Regarding illegal immigration, both the Mexican government and OUR government are to blame. The situation is deplorable and will get much, much worse before it gets better.

Sounds good. How would you suppose it could be done?
What suggestions do you have for improving the living conditions of homeless or foreclosed or those hit by natural disasters here in America?
