Yeah I would, they need all the money they can to carry a kid and if they're still working while pregnant, obviously they have no one to help them but themselves. Kick her a bigger tip, it won't go to waste.

You should always tip according to service.
Take into account how many tables the server has and how busy the kitchen is when you decide if you had good enough service.
If you feel that a waitress is doing her best but the baby is slowing her down then you could give extra to compensate for other peoples lack of gratitude.
If do take this approach then you should also pay more attention to all servers with some type of disability/hindrance.

you should always tip 15-18%. if you can't afford that, then you can't afford to go OUT and eat. When I eat , and say I spend 5 bucks on a quick lunch and the server is not even kick @ss, just ok, no problems with service. I'll leave 5 bucks for a tip too. But usually it goes like this for a "real" meal = $20 meals and up
15% if I don't perticularly like the service.
25% or more. If everything was perfect, (wine usually makes the tip go up too)

service is one thing, but I believe tipping more for a pregnant woman is stereotyping and, discriminating against them and others. obviously she probably has a husband or boyfriend. More than likely her mate is working and will supply an adiquate income while she's on leave.

Maybe she's working because she likes to. Maybe she's trying to stay healthy by moving and working. I'd say making money is probably better than chores or watching T.V.

but still for me, cheap meal, big % tip, expinsive meal 15%-25% tip. Pregnant? doesn't matter.

Fine dinning server for 11 years.

2 of my daughters have been waitresses, so I know how hard they work. I tend to tip high unless the service is absolutely awful. It seldom is. Never have run into a pregnant waitress, but I'm sure I would tip even higher. I'm not rich now and I never have been, but I always figure if I have any extra-I'll share it.

This is a question that often comes up and the received wisdom is that it is NOT necessary to give your waitress an extra large tip unless she actually gives birth while serving at your table. If she is serving another table, those customers should pick up the tab.

If she gives birth while out in the kitchen, the head chef is responsible for tipping her [which is probably why she is pregnant in the first place!]

Hell no!! My family has owned a restaraunt for over 20 years. Tips should be based on service. If she's a GREAT waitress 20% +. Work your way down from there.

Tip according to their job performance. When I get good service I tip 20%, when I get average service I tip 15% and if I get sh*tty service I dont tip at all! I used to be a cocktail waitress in the casino's and it is well understood that tips are the majority of your income and that good service and attitude is how you accomplish that!

No. Tip them based upon the service, usually 15%. If they are really good and friendly, etc., give a little more. I usually tip 10% if they have an attitude or the service is poor.

I think tip should be based on the service they provided. I always tip more when they gave me good service.
So if she provides good service and you want to tip her more because she is pregnant that is up to you.
I would not tip more just because you feel guilty or feel bad for her.

I would. Because I know they're uncomfortable and still trying to make a living for the baby. I'd tip a little extra, even if the service wasn't great because she can't move as fast as stick skinny people. But she's still trying her best.
