You have the software installed.. let me make a quick suggestion on the setup.. make sure your output settings aren't set for "auto transmit". Make sure it's "press to speak" otherwise everything you do will be transmitted and you'll get muted in no time.

You need to get the address from the guild or whatever group you're trying to talk to. It'll include the IP address (numbers with a period between then like this 127.140.145.01) and a port.. which sometimes they put at the end of the IP address with a colon between them like .. 127.140.145.01:8883.

Also find out if they have it password protected.

Then set up a new connection in Vent.

Plug in the information as we just talked about it.. including the name you want announced when you enter the channel(s) the folks you want to talk to are in.

then save it.. and hit connect.

You should be in the channel you selected. Granted, some people leave the default channel (where you appear right after connecting) as a muted channel.. so people might not be able to hear you. Check the listed channels and see if there's one that caters to the game you're playing or the guild you're in.

Hopefully that helps.. but you can always ask for technical help from the guild or the folks you want to connect to also.

But you have to have their permission (along with the IP address and port) in order to connect.

I think Ventrillo works the same way as teamspeak. You need to have someone host the server and then you connect to them.
