You are playing with fire, when you go into your registry, the brains of your pc, and start to remove registry keys. Your question alone tell me that you have little or no knowledge of computers.
You can download two free program I am going to give you, and I have used them for years and never had to restore any registry key that was removed, because it served no purpose.
Registry keys with value you need to operate your system. If there are no values associated with the key then you can delete, them on a manual basis. (Something I would not suggest that you do. I do manual as I have experience since computers became commerical).
1. CCleaner will fix issues with your registry and back them up to your documents incase you need to restore. Will also clean your HDD, of junk files. http://www.ccleaner.com
2. Eusing Registry Repair, will only clean your registry of keys you don't need and give you a restore point. http://www.eusing.com Look down about five programs on the webpage for the free Eusing registry repair.
As stated I use both of these software and they are free. You will get all new updates for free.

I wouldn't recommend you editing your registry values. You can seriously mess up your computer. It will produce a boot failure if you make a mistake. However, you can use Scan Disk to automatically pick up errors and possibly fix them. First start in Safe Mode Run Scandisk first and then Defrag. It will correct any damaged files by running Scandisk with the settings like this:
In Scandisk, check the Automatically Fix Errors option. Click on the "Advanced" button, confirm these settings:
Display Summary=Always
Log File=Replace Log
Cross-linked File=Delete
Lost File Fragments=Free
Check Valid Files For=Place a check in ALL of the options
Check Host Drive First
If this doesn't work you may want to use a registry cleaner to try to pick up errors on your XP.
