it doesn't make sense, shouldn't politicians worry more about california? nh has one million people. california has 40 million people.

New Hampshire has the first primary. Everyone is looking for an edge. Winning in NH might affect the voters in South Carolina and so on.

Every state is going to be important in '08.

Most of the reason that the cons blew it in '06 is that they wrote off entire parts of the country.

I hope they do it again!

It's important in every election. It's the first primary... which basically sets the tone for the rest of the country.

California is so smitten by the DNC that Repubs have no chance here, so they rightly look elsewhere for votes
